The Milinda Talks Resource Group

Talk Five: Abhidharma

This session will present the main principles of the Buddhist perspective on human beings and the world as found in Vasubandhu's seminal work the Abhidharmakosha. It will include themes that are taught within the Four Noble Truths such as the nature of a person, the afflictions, karma, the Buddhist path and nirvana. Although much of the Abhidharma is often seen as boring and difficult, our approach will be quite the opposite, showing the relevance of these topics for people today. This will be of interest to anyone curious about Buddhist thought and how and why it can relieve our suffering.
