Katherine King

Katherine King first encountered the teachings of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in her teen years through a love of Beat poetry. She first established a daily meditation practice in 2000, while she was a student in Naropa University’s Nepal study abroad program. She is a vajrayana practitioner who has studied with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Kate has traveled in the Tibetan region and had the good fortune of visiting Surmang where she was able to learn more about the historical roots of this tradition.

Kate is an assistant professor in the psychology doctoral program at William James College. She is a clinical psychologist with a private practice specializing in geropsychology. She is also a yoga teacher and licensed massage therapist.

Kate is on the Board of Directors of the Boston Shambhala Center. She is inspired to help the sangha grow into a healthy and inclusive community that reflects the best of its community, teachers, and teachings. She can be reached at kate@drkateking.com.
