ParticipantThanks Chris! Super helpful.
I was a bit lazy when it came to equipment. Instead of a board, I used a 6×2 piece of upholstery fabric that is smooth/shiny. I had the fabric laying around and after my MI suggested a sleeping bag, I found this had a similar feel. I’m 5’2″ so I stand on the bottom edge, my feet holding the fabric in place as I slide out. When I travel, I just fold it up and pop it in my suitcase.

David has requested these classes not be recorded. The next class is December 2 because of the Thanksgiving holiday next week. Hope you can attend.

ParticipantHi Allie
I feel the forum is for everything you mentioned. It can be a very active part of the the class if the participants subscribe to it. I’ll remind them on Thursday. If you have a more private question you would like to ask me or David, you can send it to oceansbuddhabowl@gmail.com
For me, posting beyond technical duties on the forum and actually putting myself out there is so revealing. The worldly concerns are fully active and alive for sure.
So glad you decided to shift your patterns and come to this class 🙂

ParticipantJennifer, your question reminds me of this reading on the first skadha from the Profound Treasury Vol. I, p7
“Solidifying Space. In the beginning, there is open space belonging to no one, and within that space is primeval intelligence, or vidya, so there is both intelligence and space. It is like a completely open and spacious room in which you can dance about and not be afraid of knocking anything over. You are this space; you are one with it. But you become confused. Because it is so spacious, you begin to whirl and dance about. You become too active in the space. …”
Is this what you are referring to? It certainly does seem since he’s using the words “in the beginning” and “you become” that the space and primeval intelligence precede confusion. It’s also interesting how Buddhism contradicts itself and that one way of thinking doesn’t necessarily negate the other. It definitely keeps me moving!
But it seems like your question is more about whether or not the space the Vidyadhara is referring to in this reading is the Dharmadhatu?

ParticipantHi Silvie,
The recording from last night’s class will be posted soon. It will normally take a day for me to get it ready.
The class forum can be a lively platform. It’s great you took the initiative and started this thread. I saw another topic earlier today, too- it seems to be off to a good start.
I look forward to forum discussions, also. Thank you!
