At the Toronto sangha we do Ngondro practice sessions at 8 p.m. EST, Tuesdays and Wednesdays while the Mahamudra Aspirations course lasts. We are moving them to the Ngondro Shrine Room, unless there is an event held there.
What do you have to do?
Enter a couple of minutes before the hour. Wait until the time is ready. If you are alone, you start sitting in case somebody else joins. If nobody comes, you continue your practice by yourself. If there are two or more people, check which practice they are doing. If there are people with different practices, do the part that is common, and then just do your own thing when the practices diverge. One people will have to lead until the moment the practices diverge. Then we join for the Dedication. We are all students here, so it is a great way to practice to be an Umze. Try to rotate so that it is not always the same person who leads, unless somebody cannot do it. That’s okay.</div>
In the morning, we chant the morning chants to start.
The Four Dharmas of Gampopa
Seven Line Supplication to Padmakara
Supplication to the Takpo Kagyü
Light of Blessings
The Sutra of the Heart of Transcendent Knowledge.
We end up with the Dedication of Merit at the end of the basic text for this practice.
lIn the evening, we chant the Supplication to the Takpo Kagyu.
To finish, we chant the evening chants
Four Armed Mahakala
Vetali
Mamos
Concluding Request to the Protectors
Confession Liturgy
Supplication to Padmasambhava
Supplication for the Longevity of HHK17
Dedication of Merit
If you don’t have any of these chants, please contact me. We normally don’t share the screen. If you don’t know how to do your practice and need instructions, let me know in advance and I will see if I can find somebody to help you.
Kind regards,
