Ocean is pleased to announce a new course based on Judy Lief’s talks at the 2018 Profound Treasury Retreat in Maine.
Join us in listening to and discussing these six talks by Judy Lief, presented at the 2018 Profound Treasury Retreat in Saco, Maine. These talks are focused on the interplay of fear and courage in the three yanas. Each yana provides us with particular challenges to overcome as well as the skills and insights we need to face those challenges. By dealing with challenges, we become stronger. We learn how to cut through fear and hesitation and engage the world with confidence, wakefulness, and compassion.
- the hinayana no-nonsense path of bravely facing the pain of life, practicing loving kindness, and refraining from harm;
- the heroic path of the bodhisattva warrior, which joins profound vision with unlimited compassion for all beings; and
- the vajrayana uncompromising path, in which fear leads to the discovery of sacredness and the possibility of dropping pretensions and hesitations and taking a leap into a profoundly confident and visionary way of being.
These talks based on the teaching of fear and courage found in the three volumes of The Profound Treasury, by the Trungpa Rinpoche. Judith Lief, a close student of the Vidyadhara, is a Buddhist teacher and the editor of The Profound Treasury.
Participants will gather online, listen to the audio recording and join in a live discussion lead by senior students. The course will include six classes, one for each of talk.
